Sudanese Development Association has been working for the welfare of disadvantaged Sudanese & other BMER Community living in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham's deprived area.
Our targeted disadvantaged Sudanese and other Black Ethnic Minority and Refugee children aged 5-18 will be benefited from the supplementary school project. We have found through out reach work that our targeted disadvantaged 100% Black Ethnic Minority children and Refugee belong to families who are dependent on government benefits (income support, job seekers allowance, pension and low income etc) and have parents with either no or low level literacy skills among parents. Thus getting little or no support or advice to prepare for GCSE and further education. Sudanese Development Association wants to actively tackle inequalities to accessing services by providing educational support outside of mainstream schooling which will reflect upon the Every Child Matters Enjoying & Achieving outcome.
